The complete system is offered on a 3-year subscription basis, which means no capital outlay is required other than a nominal, refundable deposit equal to one month’s subscription. It is renewable at reduced rates.
The subscription contributions are on a sliding scale, based on the number of metering points, with a minimum of six.
The monthly subscription per metering point:
30 metering points: R770
24 Metering points: R790
18 Metering points: R815
12 Metering points: R830
6 Metering points: R845
The cost of the optional real-time module is R35 per metering point per month.
A single meter measuring the company’s main incomer is available at R1,170 per month. However, it is a completely different system but retains many of the benefits. Click here to learn more.
PROJECTED SAVINGS
It is impossible to make a precise prediction of the projected savings but judging by the results of similar systems, it would be between 15% and 25%* of the total electricity bill. If indirect savings, like reduced maintenance and fewer production disruptions, are considered, it could be substantially more. The added advantage of account verification to prevent municipal misconduct could increase it even more.
*(Extracts from scientific papers supporting the predictions above, appear below}
While the best practice literature suggests predicted savings above 20%, we err on the conservative side and use 15%.
Example 1
Based on a company with an average electricity bill of R300,000 having 12 metering points.
R300,000 X 15% R45,000
12 metering points @ R830 per month R 9,960
Savings that go straight to the bank R35,040
Example 2
Based on a company with an average electricity bill of R650,000 having 30 metering points.
R650,000 X 15% R97,500
30 metering points @ R770 per month R 23,100
Savings that go straight to the bank R74,400
